Textures from plaster cloth

"Lingering in the Shadows"
mixed media
on 11 x 14 wrapped canvas

The texture in this piece comes from plaster cloth. Some sections were left rather rough, while others became very creamy from the wet plaster.

I really like this piece displayed both horizontally and vertically.

I see that you have tried the plaster. I have yet to try that but have read about it on a few blogs. Where do you buy it? Just at a Pharmacy? I read your post on your other blog about Door County. My family went there once and it was the most incredible place. We visited a wood carver there and just toured around. There are so many incredible places to visit and see in this country. Time's a-wastin'.

Thanks, everybody!

I bought the plaster cloth at Michaels, I think it was near the polymer clay section.

I just love your color palette...wish I could find some batik fabric as bright and complex!
