Self-portrait - 2010

self-portrait 2010
acrylic mixed media
on 16 x 20 wrapped canvas

This is part 2 in my family portrait series.  Last year I did quite a few self-portraits because I found that experimenting with different techniques was more interesting when I was painting something quite familiar to me - my own face.

I've used a variety of textures and many washes of pigment to give the painting depth and interest.

Thank you so much Angela for your beautiful message. It as been such a wonder to me all this new knowledge and heart changing views in life. All this spiritual stuff as been going for so long. I have been so busy with everything else I never thought that something new could come along, even though it is old news for many.
Knowing little snippets is exciting and I cannot wait to share in my art.

Have you known about this spiritual stuff, I call it stuff as there is so much of it?
Just to think that God is so much more awesome and loving and there is so much freedom and growth in His love. I feel freer within my spirit. Just so wonderful to know we are all sisters and brothers and one day we will all have peace and love for one another. I have been evaluating loads of different thoughts that I have had previously and changing them to be more loving and understanding. This in it self is freedom.
Your wonderful Angela, keep smiling in your heart every single moment, you are truly beautiful!
All that is, says so!

Loads of love!

Julie

Thank you Angela for visiting my blog and finding me through my good friend Julie.. We work together on many projects and adventures.
I am glad you dropped me a line, and I have the opportunity to see your delightful portraits. You have a wonderful talent in the arts. Love the portraits, something I have avoided painting or doing in fabric.
Blessings, vivian
